REGULAR MEETING

1. CALL TO ORDER: The school board meeting was called to order by Linda Backos at 6:00 p.m.

2. ROLL CALL: Board Members present: Linda Backos, Cheryl Wignes, John Maynard, Mark Gualandri, Marc Fogarty, and Janet Meyer.

3. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: A motion was made to approve the previous month’s board minutes by John Maynard. Mark Gualandri seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.

4. VISITORS: Jim Carlson, Mike Ruff, Marjorie Yoesle, Jessica Yoesle, Mike Matteson, and John Jones

5. TREASURER’S REPORT: Cheryl Wignes made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Janet Meyer seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.

6. PAYMENT OF THE BILLS: The bill list was reviewed. Cheryl Wignes made a motion to approve the bill list as presented. Marc Fogarty seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Voice roll call resulted in: aye: Backos, Wignes, Maynard, Gualandri, Fogarty, and Meyer; nays: none

1. Cheryl Wignes made the motion to purchase two gift cards in the amount of $50.00 each as thank you gifts for John Finicuan and Mark Carretto’s help throughout the year. f. Teacher Appreciation lunch

1. Cheryl Wignes made the motion to purchase a lunch for the teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation week (May 6^th-12^th) as a thank you for all they do. Janet Meyer seconded the motion. 10. NEW BUSINESS:

a. Honorable dismissal of aides: John Maynard made the motion to dismiss our teaching aides. The motion was seconded by Mark Gualandri. The motion carried unanimously. Voice roll call resulted in: aye: Backos, Wignes, Maynard, Gualandri, Fogarty, and Meyer; nays: none

b. May Board meeting: The motion was made to change the date of the May board meeting to May 10^th, 2007 at 6:00 pm. Mark Gualandri made the motion and it was seconded by Janet Meyer. The motion carried unanimously. Voice roll call resulted in: aye: Backos, Wignes, Maynard, Gualandri, Fogarty, and Meyer; nays: none

11. EXECUTIVE SESSION: The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees.
1. Marc Fogarty made the motion to enter into executive session at 7:00 pm. This motion was seconded by Mark Gualandri. Cheryl Wignes made the motion to leave executive session, seconded by John Maynard at 8:37 pm.

NEW BUSINESS CONTINUED:

a. John Maynard made the motion to employ Mike Matteson as the next superintendent. Janet Meyer seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Voice roll call resulted in: aye: Backos, Wignes, Maynard, Gualandri, Fogarty, and Meyer; nays: none.

b. Cheryl Wignes made the motion to rehire Principal Mike Ruff with the following terms: a twelve month contract, a 4% raise, and offer tuition reimbursement similar to that which is offered to the teaching staff. Janet Meyer seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Voice roll call resulted in: aye: Backos, Wignes, Maynard, Gualandri, Fogarty, and Meyer; nays: none

12. ADJOURN: The motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 pm. by Mark Gualandri, seconded by Marc Fogarty. The motion carried unanimously.
